FREEDOM NOW (NE) Ltd was established in 2009 by Tim Murphy, Tim served as a Drug Squad Detective for 16-years until his retirement in 2006, as a Detective he became a Drugs Expert Witness and often worked undercover, training others about drugs also became part of Tim’s role and he has delivered training within Teesside University, Colleges and to professionals within the Health Service, Prison Service, Police Service and Drug Treatment Agencies, following his Police service Tim changed his career and began to work in the drugs treatment field working as a specialist stimulant drugs worker in Middlesbrough, following this Tim became the Manager of a large treatment service in County Durham.
FREEDOM NOW (NE) Ltd is a community based project aiming to provide a range of services covering Substance Misuse Training, Substance Misuse Treatments and a Drugs Expert Witness services.
All our staff are fully trained and experienced in their own areas of expertise.
Our overall aim is to reduce the level of substance misuse in the community by providing the whole community with a level of knowledge and understanding to make informed choices, also to educate families, parents or carers to understand the real issues surrounding substance misuse and how they can help their loved ones in a constructive way.
Our training is factual, evidenced based, involves audience participation and most importantly is down-to-earth, we are passionate and determined to provide only best in all aspects of our work and follow an ethos of prevention rather than cure.
